TERMS & CONDITIONS

Your acceptance of the terms and conditions outlined are required to process your reservation.

Bookings & Payments
All bookings require pre-payment to confirm your preferred time and date.
All transactions are conducted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). Due to exchange rate fluctuations, at times there may be some variance in the amounts refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Rangitata Rafts does not accept any liability for these variances or any subsequent credit card/bank charges relating to these transfers to customer’s accounts. Payment types accepted; Visa, Mastercard, direct debit/ bank transfer upon request of invoice also Eftpos and Cash accepted on site.

Cancellations
Rangitata Rafts reserve the right to amend timetables, cancel departures, substitute plant and equipment and alter ticket prices at any time.
All agreements and contracts shall be subject solely to New Zealand law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts. In the event of a cancellation or amendment to your booking, notification period is in NZ time (NZST).
In the event of a cancellation or amendment to your booking, refunds will only be granted when Rangitata Rafts receives notification at least 24 hours prior to departure time.
If cancellation occurs within 24 hours of rafting activity no refund will be given.
If Rangitata Rafts cancels a tour due to unsafe conditions (i.e. river levels too high, not enough participants) there will be no cancellation fee and customers will receive a full refund.

Transfers
Reservations can be transferred to another date (subject to availability) up until 24 hours prior to departure with no transfer fee incurred. A $50 transfer fee applies to transfers within 24 hours.

In the event of an emergency
In the unlikely event of an emergency during a Rangitata Rafts operated experience, all guides will respond as necessary to ensure all travellers safety. The guides will contact emergency services as required and work with relevant parties to ensure safety for all involved.
Travellers should be aware that in New Zealand any claims for personal injury are limited by a government scheme.
All travellers accept that Rangitata Rafts is not responsible for any injury incurred while participating in our rafting activities. All travellers take part at their own risk and acknowledge that participation in rafting activities involves a degree of risk and the rafting operator cannot absolutely guarantee participants’ safety. Therefore, we strongly recommend travel insurance, especially for medical treatment in case of emergency.
All travellers accept responsibility for all personal items and are personally liable for these items at all times. Rangitata Rafts is not responsible for the loss/damage to personal items.
All instructions given by Rangitata Rafts guides should be followed by all travellers at all times. These instructions are for the safety of all travellers and to ensure the best experience is had by all. Parents/guardians are responsible for the safety of the children which they travel with.

Physical conditions
Any participant under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be excluded from rafting and no refund will be given.
If you are unable to swim, of poor physical health or have any medical / heart conditions which you may feel impact your ability to raft, paddle, follow instruction or swim, these must be disclosed to staff prior to departure. If you are deemed physically unfit to engage within the experience the cost of the trip will be refunded.
If you are pregnant you cannot participate on the grade 5 experience and if you do so without notifying the Rangitata Rafts guides of your conditions you do so at your own risk
If a traveller wishes to discontinue with the rafting experience during the trip, the traveller is liable for all costs associated with removing them from the river. This term in void if a medical or natural emergency arises and evacuation is required.

Group Bookings & Cancellations
The following applies to groups of 10 or more people.
A $50 per person Non-refundable Deposit to be paid at time of booking to confirm your preferred time and date.
Confirmation of final numbers required 10 days prior & full payment required 5 days prior to rafting trip commencing. (Any seats unpaid for by this time may be on sold)
No refunds will be given for cancellations within 5 days of activity.
Between 5 days and 48 hours of activity bookings may be transferred to another date, there will be no transfers within 48 hours of activity.
If Rangitata Rafts cancels a tour due to unsafe conditions (i.e. river levels too high) a full refund will be given.

Local Host discount
The following terms and conditions apply to our Local Host discount. Discount will be applied in accordance with the conditions outlined below.
1. Host region limited to a maximum distance of 50km from Rangitata Rafts base, 53 Waikari Road, Peel Forest.
2. Proof of address will be required when checking in on the day.
3. Each individual booking from outside the 50km boundary entitles ONE valid host* to a 20% discount^ (2 visitors entitles 2 hosts to a 20% discount each).
4. Discount applies to valid host only. Visitors booking is processed at full price.
5. Local discount only applies when bringing someone from outside the 50km boundary
6. In the event of cancellation of activity by Rangitata Rafts, a full refund will be issued or booking will be rescheduled for an agreed time. If visitors cannot participate in
the rescheduled booking, the 20% host discount will be void.
