Safety
We are truly proud of our team of professional, fun-loving New Zealand rafting guides who look after you both on and off the river to ensure you have a memorable day.
The friendly atmosphere at Rangitata Rafts ensures that our crew return for consecutive seasons. Many of our guides have been with us for four seasons or more. Steve is returning for his 14th!
Because our guides have all worked together for many seasons they have a good understanding of each other’s rafting skills and therefore work incredibly well as a team.
Their shared rafting experience, in New Zealand and internationally, ensures that our company enjoys an enviable reputation for safety and service.
Rangitata Rafts is audited every year by Maritime New Zealand, who approve of our Rafting Safety Procedures. We are proud of our consistent high-ranking scores.
We are an endorsed Qualmark Activity which is a national quality assurance programme for Quality and Safety in adventure activities.
Rangitata Rafts is also a member of the New Zealand Rafting Association. The guides have been appropriately assessed and are all trained in First Aid and CPR.
As with any adventure activity, there is an element of risk and it requires a degree of physical fitness. Strict safety procedures are always observed and guests must follow instructions. We will not be responsible for any personal/property damage or loss.
Please remember that if you ever feel out of your comfort zone, you are welcome to walk around any rapids.
Rangitata Rafts reserves the right to screen passengers, cancel or amend trips due to river or weather conditions, or lack of numbers.
