Corporate Trips

White water rafting provides the perfect opportunity to get people away from the comfort of their work environment and out into the spectacular Rangitata Valley for a unique team-building experience.

All personal barriers disappear as quite literally you are all placed ‘in the same boat’ and identically dressed in wetsuits; from young to old, from boss to PA, etc. Believe us, it doesn’t take long for the work hierarchy to disappear out on the river!

We are happy to discuss the different rafting and time options available to suit your requirements.

As the Lower Rangitata is suitable for all abilities, it is a good option for team building and can include all your staff. “I don’t look good in a wetsuit” is not an excuse to get out of participating! Our team of guides can make this river experience as gentle or as crazy as you like. Encourage your staff to accept the challenge of being the ‘guide’ as they get their crew working as a team to navigate safely through the rapids. The sound of laughter will be heard from afar as you bounce along under the watchful eye of your guide.

Our team of professional guides have a number of tricks up their sleeves to help instill team bonding as you raft down the Grade 1 and 2 rapids.

Experience the thrill of riding the waves in an inflatable kayak with one of your workmates. These ‘rubber duckies’ require new skills again and are great for those who wish to be challenged a little further and get a little wetter!

The exciting Rangitata Gorge is a very strong team building activity for groups. The river trip begins at the base of the stunning Two Thumb mountain range. The 1/2 hr of flat water allows our team of professional guides to instruct you in safety procedures and how to work and paddle together as a team. As the gorge narrows, the rapids gradually build in intensity, and with each rapid accomplished the confidence and excitement builds within the team. We stop before the two Grade 5 rapids (the most exciting commercially rafted) to show you the planned route through. This stop also provides the opportunity, if anyone would prefer, to walk around with our photographer and then re-join the rafts. It is nice for people to know that this option is available even though most people choose to raft them.

After the excitement of the Grade 5 rapids, the group will be on a total high and ready for some fun playing around. There is time for surfing, swimming or to challenge yourself with a leap of faith from one of our ‘jump rocks’. These are all optional activities which some people may prefer to watch.

Both options finish with hot, refreshing showers and a scrumptious meal which provides a relaxing atmosphere where everyone can chat and share their rafting stories while viewing the action photos.

Consider enjoying a night away together at our rustic lodge located on one of Canterbury’s first high country sheep stations. Bookings required in advance if you wish to have exclusive use of the lodge.
