Accommodation

More than just white water – the perfect place to relax.

Beautifully situated at the base of the Southern Alps, the Rangitata Rafts lodge and rafting base is the perfect place to relax and appreciate this unique valley.

It is located on one of Canterbury’s original high country sheep stations, set alongside a scenic reserve and a short distance off the main highway between Queenstown and Christchurch.

The backpacker-style lodge is the perfect place to stay, especially if you are travelling around by car/campervan and wish to chill out away from the tourist crowds. You are welcome to stay even if you are not participating in the rafting.

Facilities

Relax on the sunny veranda or, on cooler days, enjoy the warmth indoors beside the log burner. There are three great bunkrooms and two double rooms with shared bathroom facilities. Cook your evening meal in the open-plan kitchen/living area.

Take your book and escape to the rustic seat down beside the stream for some quiet time – so incredibly peaceful. Sit and watch the magnificent native Wood Pigeons soaring high above you. Or take a stroll or bike in the crisp fresh country air.

  • Double rooms – $48.00 for the room
